There are many ways to get involved with FOCC Mid-Sussex, here are just a few ideas -
Hosting a child
Without our host families we simply wouldn't be able to operate. They provide much needed love and support for the children, as well as fresh healthy food, and a comfortable, safe bed. Fundraising and Sponsorship
We are an entirely volunteer-run charity and rely on our supporters giving their time to help raise funds. We hold several events across the year to raise money and awareness, visit our Events page for more details. However we are always looking for help with new fundraising ideas, so please get in touch if you would be willing to help.
We also appreciate support and sponsorship from local and/or national businesses, schools, and other organisations. In the past organisations have sponsored the cost of bringing a child to Sussex for 1, or all 4 years, or the cost of a specific activity from our programme.
One of the easiest ways to help us raise money is by signing up to our Easy Fundraising page. Whenever you shop online Easy Fundraising will collect a percentage of your total spend from the retailer and donate it to us, without costing you a penny! You can even download a tool that will tell you when you're on a website that will donate to FOCC!

Donating
As well as monetary donations we are always grateful to receive donations of food (to be used while the children are in the UK, for example during our camping trip) good quality second hand clothing and shoes, toys, vitamins, basic medical supplies and toiletries. We send the children home with as many good quality clothes as possible, both for them and their families. We also try and provide the families with basic everyday medicines and painkillers which are incredibly expensive to buy in Belarus.
Alternatively we are also always on the lookout for new ways to entertain the children, so please get in touch if you are able to provide an activity for our programme.

Volunteering
Whilst the children are here we need to make sure we have enough helpers and drivers for each day of the activity programme. Different activities require different levels of supervision, but we are always on the lookout for an extra pair of hands. This can be a good way to get involved and find out a bit more about how it all works if you are considering hosting a child.
